An English resume - Nestled in leafy walled gardens,
Domaine de la Chapelle is situated in a
peaceful spot amidst the vineyards
of the Touraine. Our traditionally built
stone longère (old style farmhouse)
and renovated Grange (barn) date back
to the 15th/16th century and are
thought to be previously the farm
buildings of a Château formerly on
the adjoining land.Domaine de la Chapelle consists of a 2 bedroom self catering Gite situated in a private spot at the far end of the longère, with its own entrance and a large enclosed garden with decked sun terrace.The gite is light and airy with a well equiped kitchen area and modern family bathroom. Also on the site, located in both the main family house and in the renovated barn are 4 pretty chambres d`hotes, where we offer French style bed and breakfast and at certain times of the year, table d`hote dinner. Each bedroom has a modern private bathroom and each has access to either a balcony or a sun terrace from which this lovely natural setting can be enjoyed.

An English resume - Domaine de la Chapelle is set on a hill on the edge of the vineyards,on the outskirts of the bourg of Faverolles sur Cher. Just 3 km away is the mediaeval market town of Montrichard on the banks of the river Cher, with its many boutiques, restaurants and cafes and its
XI c` Donjon` the setting for the summer 'son et lumiere' spectacles. Ideally located in the heart of the historic towns and Chateaux of the Loire, with Amboise, Blois, Chambord, Chenonceau(pictured above), Chaumont and Cheverny to name but a few, all within easy reach. For great family days out, choose amongst others from the famous Zoo de Beauval with its the fabulous white tigers, Fantasy Forest, the Mini Chateaux, the Parc de Leonardo da Vinci (Clos Luce) or Futurascope at Poitiers.The City of Tours with its mediaeval quarter and its glitzy department stores, can be reached in 25 mins by train from Montrichard. Just 2 hrs south of Paris, the Loire Valley is a great stopover point for those heading south or on to other destinations.

An English resume - Our 4 guest bedrooms are light, airy and comfortable, each prettily decorated in soft pastel tones. With exposed beams and an eclectic mix of old and new furniture, much of which has been hand painted or distressed, each room has a very individual charm and character. Our Marie-Charlotte suite, occupying the 1st floor of the old barn, has 2 lovely bedrooms with views over the garden and can sleep up to 6 people. It has a modern, spacious bathroom with a large shower and separate WC. The suite is accessed by an exterior staircase with a balcony looking over the vineyards and the garden. A further 2 bedrooms are located at ground floor level of the barn, each with French doors leading onto the sunny terrace.
`Chloe`, our 4th bedroom is decorated in white and delicate tones of pink. A very pretty, cosy room with an imposing original exposed beam and views onto the garden. This room is situated in private corner of the main longère with a large bathroom with bath, shower and bidet.

Our bedrooms are serviced each day and fresh towels are provided. All of the bedrooms and the dining room are no-smoking areas. Ashtrays are provided outside.
A plentiful French style breakfast, including fresh croissants, breads, pastries, home-made compotes and jams, fresh seasonal fruit and yoghurts and of course lots of coffee, tea or hot chocolate is served in the dining room.

Our self-catering gite

Our self catering gite consists of 1 double and 1 twin bedroom with a modern family bathroom with bath, shower and 2 wash basins with vanity unit. The lounge has comfortable seating for 4 people, TV/DVD and windows and French doors opening onto the garden. The gite has a private entrance door, with an additional access from bedroom 2 onto the private decked sun terrace and large enclosed gite garden - big enough for the kids to play football! The kitchen/dining area is well equipped with electric cooker and hood, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. Kitchen equipment includes coffee machine, toaster, blender and a full range of crockery and cooking utensils. For sunny days in the garden, there are sun-loungers, table and chairs, parasol and a BBQ. Baby equipment and cot are available and a pushchair and child car seat can be provided.
